The Tauranga Jazz Society are very excited to be staging the 44th National Youth Jazz Competition in 2022. We look forward to having you join us.
Due to the Omicron outbreak, we have rescheduled the Competition from April to June.
When: When: Monday 20 – Tuesday 21 June 2022
Monday 20 June
8.30am – 5.00pm (approx.) Big Bands in Addison Theatre and Combos in XSpace
5 – 7.30 pm Youth Jam at X Space
8 – 9.30pm Here Come the Judge! Concert (free ticket included in registration fee)
Tuesday 21 June
8:30am – 4.00pm (approx.) Big Bands in Addison Theatre and Combos in X Space
5 – 6pm Prizegiving
Where: Baycourt Community and Arts Centre, 38 Durham Street, Tauranga

Focus on New Zealand compositions
This year we would like to encourage students to write original
compositions and for music leaders to consider New Zealand compositions in
their performance programme. To this end Rodger Fox has made available Big
Band charts of NZ composers including Sir Dave Dobbyn, Six Sixty, LAB and
